Orientation Program for students of Class XI was held in St. Karen’s Secondary School on 13th August, 2020.
The aim of this program was to welcome the students to St. Karen’s family and familiarize the parents as ‘partners in progress’ and the students with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies and the co-scholastic activities. The School Principal Miss Marykutty Thomas laid stress on the holistic development of the child which is the main aim and objective of the school. She said at St. Karen’s child is the priority. In her address she encouraged the students to give their hundred percent in their studies and make use of the opportunities provided to them.
With the objective of motivating the students in the beginning of this academic session and to set new goals Mr. Martin gave a thought provoking talk on Goal Setting. He mentioned very precisely that there’s a need of setting goals as the goals work as a roadmap towards one’s destination. Mr. PK Singh from the department of Mathematics and Mrs. Madhupriya from the department of Humanities motivated the students with their inspirational talks.
Mr. PP Singh (+2 In-charge) addressed the parents and students and laid stress on effective communication between the teachers and the parents and also sought their support and suggestions to give the best result. He also mentioned the importance of discipline, values and how there should be an ongoing partnership between parents and school to bring about holistic development of the students. The orientation program concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr. PP Singh in which he thanked all the speakers and organizers and also appreciated the parents and students for being present on this important day.
