The English Department of St. Karen’s Secondary School proudly orchestrated the K-Lit Fest, a vibrant literary extravaganza that showcased the exceptional talents of students from various branches of the St. Karen’s group of schools. The event, held on October 5, drew enthusiastic participation, fostering a spirit of competition and creativity among budding literary stars.
The festival was honored by the presence of Mr. D. P. Galstaun, Director of the St. Karen’s Group of Schools, who served as the chief guest. His inspiring words motivated students to embrace their literary passions and strive for excellence.
The event also welcomed esteemed guests of honor, including Mrs. Sharon Galstaun, Academic Director, Mrs. Shefali Shrivastava, Supervisor of School System, Mrs. Seema Singh, Principal of St. Karen's High School; Mrs. Manisha Lal, Principal of St. Karen's Collegiate School; Mrs. Angela Knight, Incharge of St. Karen's Primary School; and Mrs. Angela Anthony, Coordinator, St. Karen’s Collegiate School.
A range of exciting events took center stage at K-Lit Fest, including:
• War of Words: A fierce Spell Bee competition that challenged students to articulate their English vocabulary effectively.
• Graphic Giggles: A creative comic strip contest that allowed participants to express their art through illustrations and dialogues.
• Unleash the Verse/Poetry: A captivating poetry enactment segment where students brought their verses to life.
• Robe & Role: A character dramatization event that showcased students' acting talents potraying the famous characters like Dr. Faustus, Juliet, Cassius, Mrs. Malaprop, Medusa and so on.
• Colloquium: An engaging group discussion that encouraged critical thinking and dialogue.
• Rhythms of Panchatantra: A dance drama that celebrated traditional storytelling through movement.
• Tiny Theatre Treasures: A reader’s theatre segment that highlighted the joys of reading aloud.
The judging panel, comprised of notable educationist from the city including Mrs. Shruti Shahi, Dr. Runoo Ravi, Mrs. Archana Rani, and Mrs. Pallav Jha, evaluated the performances, providing constructive feedback and encouragement to all participants.
The K-Lit Fest 2024 not only showcased the literary talents of students but also fostered camaraderie and a love for the arts within the St. Karen’s Group of Schools.
